I LOVE colored jeans. If I am not snuggled up in leggings on the couch (aka my “ remote consultant” attire) you can probably find me wearing brightly colored jeans. However, that wasn’t always the case. When I first bought a pair of purple pants in college I had no idea how to wear them. Every day I would look in my closet and sigh with reluctance over having no idea how I could pull off such a bright look.

Nowadays, I have gained a lot more confidence in my personal style, and a huge part of that is gaining more confidence wearing color!

So today, I am going to share with you how to look like your most dazzling self in colored jeans, specifically how to wear teal and pink pants. So pull up a chair, add a little color into your life, and look like the amazing goddess you are.

How to Wear Teal Jeans

1. Layering

Layering is the key to pulling together any look.

For this outfit I paired a graphic tee with an open button down shirt for a casual but stylish look. The shirt is from Self Care Station, an organization I spotlighted in my Ethical Holiday Giving blog post. They bring conversations around mental health front and center [Hence the “No Shame” pill shirt] and 10% of profits go to support the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

In addition, nothing classes up a look faster than a pair of heels. I bought these heels for sorority recruitment 8 YEARS ago and they are still my favorite pair of heels since they go with everything.

2. Accessorizing is Key

This is one of my favorite spring looks.

The flowy outer shirt is from StitchFix. While I definitely have rocked these turquoise jeans with just a white vneck, adding in a sheer coverup adds more personality to the outfit. When putting together a look with colored jeans, adding fun accessories such as jackets, necklaces, and shoes can be a great way to bring your outfit together.

3. Class it up with a Button Down

Nothing says “adult” more than a button down shirt. I love pairing colored jeans with a light-colored button down to really make the jeans pop. You can still look cute and polished in colored jeans.

4. A Jean Jacket Matches Everything

I mean it. I love a Canadian tuxedo and wear denim on denim fairly often. However, when it comes to colored jeans, you can’t go wrong with a jean jacket and a neutral shirt underneath.I chose to accompany this outfit with pink dangling earrings and a pink dichroic glass necklace to complete the look.

5. Try it with a Blazer

Colored jeans don’t have to mean unprofessional.

While I initially put this together as part of my Elle Woods Halloween Costume, the outfit also works for bright but polished look. Pairing a darker salmon blazer with a white button down and heels elevates the pink jeans to a more professional level. Perfect for a coffee meeting or networking.

6. Embrace the Color Palette

If you are going in, go ALL in. I paired a pink jacket [thrift store find!] with my pink jeans, a pink necklace, and pink earrings.

Bonus: Black Jeans

Black is a color right? Okay, maybe not exactly (I am preparing to get a lecture on hues versus colors now), but black jeans should definitely be a staple for your wardrobe.

When I was a guest speaker I would wear black jeans with a blazer to give give presentations to thousands of people, and it looked far more polished than your average blue jean. However, my favorite black jean look is to embrace my inner 90s grunge, complete with waist flannel and beanie.

Fun Fact: I am wearing clothing from not one, but TWO breweries in this shot. The beanie is from Swamp Head Brewing in Gainesville and the shirt is from Off Color Brewing in Chicago. Definitely check out these breweries if you ever find yourself in the area.
